Our history

About us

Originally founded in 1987, AAS was acquired by Link Group in 2006.

Through Link Group, AAS has consolidated its position as a market leader through growth and key acquisitions in Australia’s superannuation administration industry.

1987

AAS founded by AMP Society as a small business of less than 40 employees serving 100,000 members.

1992

Signed agreement with REST Industry Super to provide administration services.

2000

Introduced document automation, with intelligent character recognition (ICR) and optical character recognition (OCR) technologies.

2002

Introduced integrated contact centre and customer functionalities, including interactive voice response (IVR) and customer relationship management (CRM) capabilities.

2004

Launched Money Solutions financial planning business (joint venture), acquired AFSL licence and commenced provision of single issue advice.

Introduced aaspireCRM, a customer relationship management (CRM) platform.

2005

Launched EmployerAccess, a dedicated website for fund employers

Launched MemberAccess, a dedicated website for fund members

Introduced enhanced e-marketing capabilities, including email and SMS communication to fund members

2006

Link Group acquires AAS, along with Money Solutions

2007

Introduced enhancements to document automation

2008

Completed first client migration to new aaspire platform

Acquired Primary Superannuation Services (PSS) and The Australian Superannuation Group (TASG)

Launched integrated contact centre interface

2011

Established partnership arrangement with Towers Watson for superannuation administration services

2012

Launched SCH Online, an online clearing house for employers

Acquired PSI Superannuation Management

Acquired FuturePlus Financial Services, and established superannuation administration service arrangements with key clients

2013

Formed strategic alliance with Russell Investments to offer superannuation administration services

Introduced iProcess, an aaspire integrated workflow solution

2014

Introduced direct investment options (DIOs) in partnership with Macquarie Bank

Signed agreement with Government Employees Superannuation Board (GESB) to provide outsourced administration services

Signed agreement with Superpartners, a leading superannuation service provider, to provide outsourced administration services to clients

Formed strategic alliance with Challenger to offer annuities
